GAYO Applauds Malawi’s New National Youth Policy

The Girls Activist Youth Organisation (GAYO) wholeheartedly endorses the newly unveiled National Youth Policy (2023-2028), a comprehensive framework designed to empower Malawian youth to effectively address social, cultural, economic, and political challenges and capitalize on opportunities to realize their full potential.

GAYO is particularly pleased with the policy’s emphasis on inclusive youth engagement, ensuring that marginalized young people, including those with disabilities and albinism, are not left behind. We firmly believe that this policy has the potential to make a transformative impact on the lives of all Malawian youth.

Key Highlights of the New Youth Policy

• Empowering Youth Voices: The policy prioritizes youth participation in decision-making processes, ensuring that their voices are heard and their needs are taken into account.
