World Mental Health Day 2023

Girls Activist Youth Organization Celebrates the Power of Girls and Young Women to Advocate for Their Own Mental Health

On World Mental Health Day, the Girls Activist Youth Organization (GAYO) celebrates the power of girls and young women to advocate for their own mental health and the mental health of others.

Girls and young women face unique challenges to their mental health, including gender-based violence, discrimination, and poverty. But they are also powerful agents of change, and they are leading the way in creating a world where everyone has access to the mental health support they need.

GAYO’s Work to Support the Mental Health of Girls and Young Women

GAYO is a youth-led organization that empowers girls and young women to become leaders and advocates for change. Through its programs and initiatives, GAYO provides girls and young women with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to take care of their own mental health and the mental health of their communities.

For example, GAYO’s “Web For Life” program teaches girls in universities and young women about the importance of mental health and how to identify and address signs of mental distress. The program also provides girls and young women with the tools and resources they need to support their own mental health and the mental health of their friends and family.

GAYO also advocates for policies and programs that support the mental health of girls and young women. For example, GAYO is working to ensure that all girls and young women have access to quality mental health care, regardless of their income or insurance status.

Celebrating the Power of Girls and Young Women on World Mental Health Day

On World Mental Health Day, GAYO celebrates the power of girls and young women to advocate for their own mental health and the mental health of others. We are inspired by the many girls and young women who are speaking out about mental health and working to create a more supportive world for everyone.

Together, we can create a world where all girls and young women have the support they need to thrive.
